Greetings Fellow Woodcarvers

The Charlotte Woodcarvers Club official year began April 1, 2019 and will end March 31, 2020. The change in date was made last year in order to have adequate time after our carving show to reconcile the show income and expenses. I am thrilled to report that the Club had a profit slightly over $2,100. This is a remarkable success story considering our change in venue and all of the higher costs associated with the new location. This was only made possible by the hard work and extraordinary effort made by the Show Committee and Club members to bring the Show to fruition.
The feedback the Club has received has been very positive and many vendors and carvers have already expressed their desire to return next year. As most everyone knows the CCA (Caricature Carvers of America) will be hosting their annual meeting nest year in conjunction with our Show. As a Club, we couldn’t be more excited to have them next year and the talent and creativity they bring. I know that all the woodcarvers and the viewing public will be delighted with their caricatures.
This year has started off with the new carvers that recently joined our Club finishing up with their carving instruction and projects. In addition, we will be hosting Boy Scouts from several Troops around Charlotte to meet the requirements for the Woodcarving Merit Badge. May also promises to be busy with 2 pyrography classes being taught by Michele Parsons and carving demonstrations at the Matthews Farmer’s Market.
I you have any ideas or classes that you would like to see offered, please let us know. We would like to have serval club projects this year and we value your ideas and suggestions.
