Happy New Year
The New Year is a time to reflect, reflect upon what happened this past year. 2020 began with Al Wheeler writing “The year 2020 promises to be a busy and exciting time for the Club. We have about 7 weeks left before our Show begins. …” He was right, for the first two months. We had a great 38th Showcase of Woodcarvings. And then we had Carol Leavy stay after the show to teach carving Santas. Then it was if everything stopped. The state closed down, which closed our carving together.Marcy Chirdon and the new board took office April 1, however that didn’t last long either. With the forced retirement of her husband, Marcy moved from Charlotte to New York to be closer to her two sons and their families. That is when I stepped into the position of president.
