Welcome 2022

As I predicted last month, the Christmas banquet was a great success. The choir from Carmel Christian School sang beautifully. We thank Verna Clark and her hard work with those teenagers. Photos can be found later in this newsletter.
Club election will be held on January 11, 2022. Those nominated and accepted nomination are:
- President: Bob Gerbe
- Vice President: Bill Robinson
- Secretary: Tom Bowling
- Treasurer: Rich DiFranco
- 3 year Board Member: Steve Stillitano
- 2 year Board Member: Rocky Paiano (he will take Bill Robinson’s seat)
Wahoo McDaniel will continue his final year as a board member.
The 39th Annual Showcase of Woodcarvings is less than 4 months away. I trust you are working on carvings to enter. You can enter up to five (5) carvings in a category (this year only) carved since 2019 (3 years). These are rule changes due to covid.
We must also remember that we need to participate in the operation of the show. The showcase committee is working getting ready for the event, but when April 1 comes we need workers, plenty of workers. Setup is a big job as well as tear down. During the show we will need workers to help in the Hospitality/Club table to help direct visitors and sell club apparel. There are too many jobs to list here so just make plans to take time to help during the show.
I believe Covid will be with us for the duration, but don’t let that hinder your attendance at the Tuesday club meeting. If you can, please come back and join us on Tuesday anytime between 9 am to 7 pm. We have novice to advanced carvers, young to old, carving everything from bark houses to caricatures to chip carvings and birds. The conversation is inviting as well.
